In this workshop, Buddhist teacher Mark Winwood draws inspiration from the Tibetan Book of the Dead to teach participants that through a combination of contemplation of death and mindful practice they can change how they relate to death. Such a change will enhance appreciation of life and help acceptance of individual vulnerability.

 

The workshop will offer a variety of practical methods to be applied to life and work.
These methods include:

• Mindfulness exercises for deepening awareness of the “here and now”
• Practice for cultivating loving kindness
• Helpful guidelines for caregivers

This workshop offers guidance and inspiration to health care professionals and people caring for a dying friend or relative.

 

Course materials will be provided.

 

Instructor: Mark Winwood is the founder and resident teacher of the Chenrezig Project, a Tibetan Buddhist study and practice group. He teaches at several educational institutions and is a frequent traveler to India.

This workshop is a fun way to tap into your creativity. This is a painting class not a drawing class, so the instructor will give each student a canvas with an outline drawn already on the canvas. Without the pressure to draw, students can immediately begin to paint. The instructor chooses different subjects for each workshop. Paint, brushes and other supplies are distributed.

 

During the workshop, the instructor will discuss media, style and technique and answer questions.

 

At the conclusion of the class, a class picture is taken and the students take home a finished painting.

 

Students are encouraged to wear old clothes and bring their own choice of refreshments.

 

Instructor: Cheri Reicher’s artwork is shown in galleries and collected internationally by private individuals, collectors, and corporations. She is listed in the prestigious Mayer’s International Action Record for international collectors. Her painting is featured on the Epcot Flower and Garden Festivals posters. She teaches workshops in Central Florida.
